View The Bulls

Great Elk Tour bulls are selected for their size, uniqueness and story. Most bulls are harvested on public lands and many are taken by RMEF members.

Early Season Utah Bull
  • Where: Utah
  • When: 2021
  • Owner: Danica Adams
  • Method: Rifle
  • Boone & Crockett Score: 420 4/8
  • The early season hunt is one of many opportunities for youth in Utah to watch wildlife and develop an appreciation for hunting and the outdoors. 14-year-old Danica Adams placed her crosshairs on this dandy of a bull in 2021.

Michigan Sheds
  • Where: Michigan
  • When: 2018
  • Owner: Derek Wangler
  • Method: Found Sheds
  • Boone & Crockett Score: 433
  • Good things come to those who wait and are diligent. Derek Wangler first noticed this bull and watched it throughout the fall of 2017 in the Pigeon River State Forest in northern Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Come the following spring, his search began in earnest. A Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Life Member, Derek found the antlers during an RMEF rendezvous gathering.

Pennsylvania Giant
  • Where: Pennsylvania
  • When: 2018
  • Owner: Pennsylvania Game Commission
  • Method: Rifle
  • Boone & Crockett Score: 421 4/8 gross
  • This majestic bull is the product of quality habitat and sound wildlife management practices in northcentral Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources manage public lands to make them more attractive to elk. The agencies create and maintain high-quality foraging areas and limit human disturbance. RMEF also helps by supplying funding to conserve and enhance habitat.

Oregon Family Heirloom
  • Where: Oregon
  • When: 1910
  • Owner: Dale Ott
  • Method: Found dead
  • Boone & Crockett Score: 368 4/8
  • In 1910, Jess Ott worked on a stern wheeler, a steamboat driven by a single paddle wheel at the stern, and overheard a passenger talking about a Roosevelt elk in velvet that had been shot, tumbled down a hill and lost. Growing up in the 1980s near Allegany, he recognized the area, went there and found these antlers. Jess gave them to Glae Gould in the 1940s. Glae’s son, Dave, gave them to Jess’s great grandson Dale for Christmas in 2021. After touring the country, they will hang in Dale’s home. (Special thanks to Abe and Tony Meline.)
