Volunteers Get Out Hunting in 2019

Former RD Bill Christensen and his children David, Carli (pictured) and Bergen experienced a great family hunt as part of a long-standing tradition this October when they took this nice raghorn bull. David and Carli are volunteers with the Salt Lake Chapter of RMEF.

While wearing her Eberlestock Team Elk pack, Smith Valley Chapter Chair Kim Lewis got her first elk this year near Ely, Nevada. She felled this gorgeous cow with one shot from her Savage 116 6.5 x 284 Norma that she won at a Sacramento Big Game Banquet.

After 20 years of applying for the California elk draw, Joe McNeely, committee member of the Trinity Chapter of RMEF, finally got a tag. He was rewarded with this stunning public-land bull. It was a great and memorable hunt with family and friends!

Scott Bergera, life member, committee member with the Utah Country Chapter and licensed Utah guide, captured this photo of bulls sparring on his trail camera in Utah’s Boulder Mountains

Paige Hinton, 14, (third from left) won a cow elk hunt at the Siskiyou Chapter big game banquet. She spent a weekend hunting with volunteers from the Siskiyou Chapter: Rich Klug, Doug and Shari Kaufner, Mike Ford and Bob Bastian. Paige was accompanied by her Dad John, and sister Olivia. She didn’t get her elk that weekend, but she learned enough to take a beautiful yearling cow two weeks later.
