RMEF Supports New Hunter Education Platform

The online platform Recademics.com recently received accreditation by the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) for its online hunter safety course. As such, it offers a unique approach that goes beyond traditional safety training by equipping students with field-ready skills thanks to an exclusive partnership with OutdoorClass and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Restoring Elk Country – Nevada Bitterbrush Planting

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation jumped in with the Nevada Department of Wildlife and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to do something about it. Together, with the help of contracted crews and volunteers, they planted 64,260 bitterbrush and Wyoming sagebrush plants in the fall of 2023 as part of a wider effort to boost restoration.

Bull Elk Shot Out of Season in Western Idaho

Fish and Game conservation officers are asking people for information about a large bull elk that was shot out of season and left to waste near Pollock. On Friday, Dec. 6, Fish and Game received a report from a hunter that they had found a mature, trophy class bull elk carcass on National Forest land behind the Whitewater Wilderness Ranch, and near the White Bird Ridge Road in Unit 23.

WYOMING LANDOWNERS HONORED FOR CONSERVATION EFFORTS

Ranchers and farmers don’t work their land for recognition, but a pat on the back every now and them is definitely appreciated. Take the Johnson family from southeast Wyoming. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) recently honored the owners of Terry Creek Ranch as its 2024 landowner of the year.
