2009 Big Game Banquet Goodies

By Jennie Wright, RMEF Field Programs Coordinator

The 2009 Premiere Art Program
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s 2009 Premiere Art Package is available exclusively to chapters as part of the Pass It On! package for event fundraising. Marty Vermilyea at Heritage Frames and Fine Art in Fort Collins, Colorado, will frame and ship the four-print packages to chapters.

Larry Zabel, a familiar name to many Elk Foundation members, was chosen to paint our 25th Anniversary Print. His piece, The Visionaries, is the focal point of this year’s art package. The hunters portrayed in the painting depict Charlie Decker, Bob Munson, Phil Tawney, Wallace Pate and Aaron Jones—founders and influential members of the Elk Foundation. The setting is Montana’s aptly named Elkhorn Mountains.

Our three featured artists’ prints for 2009 are Early Morning Jump by Reid Christie, which has also been chosen as the 2009 Cabela’s Conservation-Edition print, Rest Stop by Hulan Fleming and Autumn Splendor by Pat Pauley. These breathtaking prints will be in high demand at either the live or silent auctions at your events.

2009 Banquet Edition Rifle
Winchester Model 70 Super Grade .325 Short Mag

What better way to celebrate our 25th Anniversary than by offering the new, American-made, Winchester Model 70 Super Grade as our 2009 Banquet-Edition Rifle. Chambered in .325 Short Mag, it has the all-new M.O.A.™ Trigger System, improved fit, finish and enhanced accuracy to go along with its classic pre-’64 controlled round feeding, 3-position safety and solid handling. To top it off, the 2009 banquet-edition rifle is beautifully engraved and selectively plated with 24 kt. gold by Baron Technology. Special thanks go to Winchester for making available to the Elk Foundation some of the very first Model 70s produced at the new South Carolina plant.
