It appears Montana is further ramping up efforts to combat chronic wasting disease (CWD). According to a report in the Billings Gazette, Montana Fish, Wildlife (FWP) and Parks Director Martha Williams told an interim legislative committee that FWP should “do everything possible to keep prevalence from growing.”
The report indicates FWP was originally satisfied with CWD rates at five percent or less in elk, deer and moose.
Williams did not indicate what steps may be forthcoming.
